Liberty International School (LIS)

I looked around Liberty International School last week. It is surrounded by good environment, tanbo & trees, and the school has big yard in the back. There are many children from different countries, and they study Math, Science, English, Japanese, Social studies, Art, Music, etc.. in English. The teachers are so nice, and talk to them with enthusiasm. The elementary class is small, 6~14 children in one class. They looked fun even they studied high level Science. The owner showed me the 3rd grade science text book, it looks very interesting content, but very high level English! She said it is widely used for 4~6 grade students in US, but children here study day by day, little by little, intensively, then every student can read and understand this book in 3rd grade. The text book's English level is equal to Japanese high school text book, so they will have no trouble with English until high school in Japan. The owner said this school was built to help the foreign family in need of education in English. She makes a discount for parents who are university students, or postdoc with low salary.

Pre-Kindergarten class 9:30~14:30 For 3~4 year's old children

When I went there, 6 children played. The owner said she will make 2.5~3 year's old children class on this November.

Kindergarten class 9:30~14:00 For 4~5 year's old children, There are 14 children now.

Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten class fees : Registration fee 60000 yen, Annual fee (curriculum, Maintenance, Art/Science Resources & Library ) 84000~90000 yen, Tuition 52000~55000 yen/ month

Elementary school class 1~3 Grade 9:00~15:00, 4~6 Grade 9:00~16:30

Junior high school class 9:00~16:30

They bring lunch box by themselves.

Elementary, and Junior high class fees : Registration fee 70000 yen, Annual fee (curriculum, Maintenance, Art/Science Resources & Library ) 108000~114000 yen, Tuition 6000~65000 yen/ month

The school has child care that every student can use. Even he/ she is not LIS student, he/she can use it. 15:00~17:30

Child care fees : pre-Kinder and Kinder 18000 yen/ month, Elementary 15000 yen/ month, 500 yen/hour

It has also After School, Saturday School, and Summer,Winter School (1w, 2w).

After School (90 min) Registration fee 30000 yen is needed at the first time

1/week : tuition 14000 yen/month, maintenance and etc fees 26000 yen/ year

2/week : tuition 22000 yen/month, maintenance and etc fees 32000 yen/ year

3/week : tuition 28000 yen/month, maintenance and etc fees 38000 yen/ year

Summer School 8:30~14:00

1 week 32000 yen

2 weeks 46000 yen

The school bus is available for day school and after school children living around Tsukuba station, Kenkyu Gakuen station, Matsushiro, Ninomiya, Namiki...ask others.
